Maple Valley Auto Repair

I made an appointment for a Tuesday and brought the car in the late afternoon. I had an idea what the issue was and informed them as such. They told me they wouldn’t be able to look at it until the next day, which is understandable. I then heard nothing. I went in on Friday to ask them if they had looked at it and they said they had and told me what they found. They said the part was $350, but that didn’t include labor. They informed me they were putting the estimate together right then and I would need to wait to receive the estimate by email so I could authorize the repairs. I didn’t get the email until Monday. It had four different and difficult to understand estimates. One of the estimates was for $5800 in repairs, not including the initial problem. I authorized the repairs (for the specific problem) that day. The vehicle wasn’t finished until the following Monday. I’m assuming the repair was done correctly, but I can’t understand why the diagnostic took five days? I was also told the diagnostic would be $180, but it ended up being over $300 and I wasn’t told why. Altogether, I ended up paying almost $1200 to fix a $2500 car. I won’t be doing business with Rainier Automotive in the future. Bad communication, bad time management and quite expensive.

Rainier totally made my day! Everything was explained to me including several options and the work was completed earlier than promised. These guys are the best!

The Rainier team was most accommodating. It was challenging since the car broke down close to the Thanksgiving holiday. I was out of the country by the time my daughter picked up the car but I believe she was satisfied with the repair.

Jeff was great to work with. He kept me informed, and gave me all the options. The price was competitive all the way around. Will definitely use this shop again.

Rainer has always been great to work with. Any place I have lived I have always searched for the small town “like” auto center that treats you like a neighbor and friend but at the same time provides high quality work at a fair price. Here in Maple Valley for me that’s Rainer Automotive.

We had used Rainier Automotive in the past for some repairs on my 2017 Jaguar F-Pace. The day before the Labor Day weekend it started leaking antifreeze. We called Rainier Automotive and even though they were booked at they let us drop it off to work into the schedule the following week. After diagnosing and working up a quote they also followed up extensively with my husband on the questions he had. It took a bit for the parts to come in but once they came, they got them in. Got the car home had another problem took it back and they gave me a loaner car to drive while they diagnosed the last problem. They got the part and got it in and did some extra testing to ensure we were all good. The rates were really great for both parts and labor. The staff is FANTASTIC and I would recommend them to any of my Maple Valley or beyond peeps. Thanks Rainier Automotive we appreciate you!!!! Teresa and Charlie

Rainier Automotive has been our go-to auto mechanic since we moved to Maple Valley. They are incredibly responsive, communicative, and transparent about costs. The quality of their work is top-notch. Highly recommend!

I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. Waste of my money and time ! So I called in to make an appointment due to my suspension making sounds . Over the phone I was told they would be doing a drivability diagnostic. So when I get there they end up saying there gonna do a full diagnostic ( No big deal I’ll figure out what else I need to fix ) . I was told my vehicle might take a while and that it exceeds a certain time limit the fee goes up. I call and inform them to let me know if it does exceed that time . They don’t . To be fair they knocked of a chunk off the fee after expressing to them they didn’t even call me . Well moving forward I pay for my diagnostic and am told my idle arm is causing this noise . I get that fixed else where and the noise remains . I call back and ask them what is making that noise and they tell me I need to do another diagnostic specifically for that noise . Make a long story short I feel like I got played out my money here . Still don’t know whats making that sound other than a list of everything that’s wrong with my car but nothing to directly fix the sound issue . I’ll be taking my business elsewhere! And the only reason I’m giving 2 stars is because they checked everything else on my car .
