Very impressed with Rainier Automotive. Leaving the State of WA and needed work done before we started our road trip. Had brake issue, changed all fluids, engine light issue, radiator needed to be replaced, vacuum leak on other vehicle, and a few other small issues. All issues fixed. Shop is very busy. Rainier Automotive stayed after hours and on the weekend working on back log. My vehicle had another engine light issue as we got ready to leave. Called Rainier Automotive, and they took care of my issue. They got me on the road. Thank You Rainier Automotive

I had the opportunity to try the service offered at Rainier Automotive twice in this year. Note that I have had my car serviced at dealership for 5 years from the day I got my car new. The first time I had the service for brake service (fluid change + rotor/brake pad replacement). Jim is a very customer service oriented person and his suggestion actually saved me from the expensive service suggested by the service center as my brakes seemed to have more than 50% life on them that warrants 5/5 stars. Second time I had gone in for a regular oil change and also updated in the service request of the two issues (noise on the driver side front wheel and shaking steering while braking). The car was handed over to the service at 8:15AM and I got back the car around 3:30 PM. None of the issues were even looked at nor investigated for me to understand if they need immediate attention. I could have gone in for service at dealership - the cost seems almost the same and they could have at least tried to update me of any immediate issue the car needs so I can schedule for service. This experience allows me to only give 2.5/5 stars and makes me think twice before taking my car in service here again.

I do not know much about cars so I am always a bit cynical when it comes to hiring mechanics. I have used Rainier Automotive twice now, once for a transmission issue and once to diagnose a sound I was hearing. In the case of the transmission issue, I was advised to simply do a transmission flush before any further repair which solved the issue and saved me a ton of money. In the second case, they diagnosed a wheel bearing issue as well as identified the need for new brakes. Not only was this diagnostic accurate, but when I told them I was going to go ahead and attempt the repair on my own, they happily looked up the brand of part they would recommend and sent me home with a part number to order. I will continue to use Rainier Automotive for all my future automotive needs because I have always received great work on my car alongside excellent customer service.

i was charged over $200 just to diagnosis the problem. Then another $650 for the part(200) and $450 to do the work. When i googled the how to part install the new part the the direction showed how to change out the starter in 25 min. So i wasnt pleased with what i was charged $850. They did however reduce the total to $775 so i was pleased by that.

I don’t know what I would have done without Rainier. I was visiting from Alaska and got a flat in my rental car. I pulled into their parking lot and waited for them to open. They were so kind and helpful. They worked me in, talked to the rental company, found a new tire and got me back on the road the next day. Thank you!
